The Secondary Student Training Program is made possible because our faculty mentors open their laboratories and devote their time, talents, and other resources to developing young researchers in their labs over the course of this 5 week experience. This year, SSTP students will be returning the favor and volunteering at a Iowa Children’s Museum STEM outreach event at the Iowa City Airport. Last night, we discussed the importance of scientific outreach and based the discussion around Dr. Bill Hammack’s 2007 NSF talk.
